Job Summary
DOXA is a rapidly expanding organization that is embarking on building a new Data Platform that will utilize industry-leading tools, including Databricks and Azure data services, to provide analytics and data science to support our growth. The Data Analyst is responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. Their duties include running tests on their designs to isolate errors, and updating systems to accommodate changes in company needs. The Data Analyst will support our Business leaders, business analysts, software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
Job Functions
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure to address business challenges and enhance processes.
- Build and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, ensuring clean, transformed, and aggregated data from multiple sources.
- Collaborate with data and analytics experts to improve data systems functionality.
- Create analytics tools to provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders (data, design, product, executive teams) to support data infrastructure needs and resolve technical issues.
- Use agile software development for continuous improvement of data pipelines and platforms.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Design and implement process improvements, enhancing scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating workflows.
- Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using cloud services and SQL.
- Improve data models for business intelligence tools, fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Implement systems to monitor data quality, ensuring accurate and accessible production data.
- Perform data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
- Design data integrations and data quality frameworks.
- Evaluate open-source and vendor tools for data lineage and long-term data platform architecture.
- Utilize master data management tools and procedures to conform data values across multiple system feeds.
- Processes are documented and documents are maintained and updated as needed.
- Perform other miscellaneous functions and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Required Experience: Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Minimum one years’ experience performing data analyst and/or engineering responsibilities utilizing tools such as SQL, NoSQL, python, and reporting tools such as PowerBI or SSRS.
- Required Knowledge: Functional knowledge of insurance operations, terminology, data, and KPIs preferred
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Skills/Abilities: Intermediate proficiency in MS Office. Proficient in Microsoft Visio.
- Travel: 5% domestic travel required.
- Work Schedule: Regular IS schedule with on call, possible weekend work.
