Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:

We are seeking a Imaging Sciences Data Analyst to join the Advanced Computing and Oncology Laboratory in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In this role, you will spearhead groundbreaking projects focused on cancer imaging, visual computing, and the advanced modeling of multimodal oncology data, including radiology, digital pathology, and genomic. Working closely with the principal investigator (PI), you will develop novel AI/ML predictive models with applications in oncology.

 

Our Department of Radiation Oncology is at the forefront of patient care and research, integrating clinical, translational, and laboratory-based innovation. Comprised of 7 services, 24 residents, and over 60 faculty members, the Department plays a pivotal role in shaping current radiation oncology guidelines and standards of care. Our faculty are key collaborators with renowned organizations, including the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, and the National Cancer Institute.

 

Our state-of-the-art facilities include ten external-beam radiation therapy treatment machines, four simulators, and advanced motion management systems, such as RPM respiratory tracking, Calypso, VisionRT, and ExacTrac. With our cutting-edge linear accelerators and newly renovated brachytherapy suite, we offer a comprehensive, high-quality environment for research and patient care.

Role Overview:

  • Develop and apply computational frameworks for analyzing medical imaging and oncology datasets
  • Independently formulate critical research questions and leverage visual computing to conduct hypothesis driven cancer research
  • Work independently and with the PI to identify data needs interpret multimodal data
  • Implement data acquisition, curation, and management processes
  • Evaluate predictive algorithms to address a range of research questions in clinical oncology
  • Maintain data visualizations to facilitate data-driven decision-making

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a relevant field such as computer science, or engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
  • Experience with medical imaging and radiomics analysis

Core Skills:

  • Proficiency with software for clinical image visualization and processing such as 3D slicer
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and R
  • Ability to develop image analysis algorithms
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in scientific writing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic academic research environment
  • Formal coursework in statistical modeling

Pay Range: $66,500.00-$103,100.00
