The Opportunity:
The Data & Analytics team (dna) drives the enterprise data and analytics strategy for the firm. The team is responsible for establishing a data foundation, building capabilities while setting standards and measurements for data quality, compliance, security, and retention of our data assets.
As our Data Governance Junior Manager, you are responsible for overseeing our data governance initiative and supervising the associates responsible for managing our key reference data elements: people (i.e. employees), clients, and cost centres.
To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of data governance principles and best practices. You should also possess strong analytical skills and have experience managing a team of data professionals. You should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team and be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is reliable, consistent, and trustworthy.
You will also help define and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure that data is properly used across the organization. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring data quality and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

The candidate should be persistent, equipped with high attention to detail and natural curiosity. Since you will be working in a DG team and will contact different stakeholders, collaborative skills are also required. We are looking for candidates with fluent English (spoken and written).
You will help shape the future of what data-driven organizations look like, drive processes for sourcing, analyzing and interpreting data in creative ways.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Data Governance
- Develop and implement data governance and data quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure that our data is reliable, consistent, and trustworthy.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of our core data sets and identify ways to address and prevent any issues or discrepancies as needed.
- Partner with the various data owners and consumers to define and refine data requirements and to align data practices with business goals and data governance strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to teams involved on data governance resources and best practices.
- Collaborate with technology groups to ensure the high quality and integrity of the data and its proper integration with other systems and processes.
- Facilitate the harmonization of business changes (organizational-type updates, application deployment as well as business process changes) with the necessary data structure (performed in close partnership with technology teams) and adapt data governance solutions to align with the strategic objectives.
- Monitor data quality and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare insights and status updates periodically to inform stakeholders about the status of the data and any issues or concerns that need to be addressed.
- Identify opportunities for improvement or optimization and develop and implement plans to address them.
- Assist in the development and delivery of new data sets, metrics, and analytics content to support business strategic decisions.
Team management
- Lead all aspects of recruiting and onboarding of new hires within the data governance team.
- Day to day management of a team of associates responsible for overseeing the people, clients, and cost centres reference data sets.
- Identify skills/learning gaps for team and suggest training and development content.
- Assist team with setting individual performance goals; writes and delivers performance reviews. Provide timely, specific feedback on a regular basis
- Provides coaching to help team achieve goals, develop skills, or improve performance (when needed)
