Overview

The Applied Sciences Laboratory at SRI International team focuses on the development of new algorithms for a wide variety of exciting applications including supply chain networks, social graphs, optimization of generative AI models, material failures, and biological systems. The aim of the team is to conduct and publish research at top venues and assist SRI commercialize relevant technologies by filing patents and spinning out start-ups.

 

The Intern will help with software and algorithm development in support of a new computational and mathematical sciences team. The Intern will work onsite at our Menlo Park, CA office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with LLMs (large language models)
  • Help train generative AI models
  • Work with algorithms for large graphs
  • Software development
  • Algorithm development
  • Assist in developing research ideas

Qualifications

  • Current Bachelors or Masters student majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Some experience with Python and PyTorch
  • Experience or classes with LLM’s, generative AI, or graphs are a plus

The salary range is: $20-$35/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
