At Houston Methodist, the Senior Financial Information Data Analyst position is responsible for identifying appropriate information sources in order to effectively report and evaluate the accuracy of the key data elements in clinical and financial databases. This position generates reports representing statistical/financial information in graphical and other presentation forms, as needed, for operational and financial decision making. The Senior Financial Information Data Analyst position independently partners with client groups to evaluate needs and identify appropriate data sources. This position performs analyses using data for routine monthly reports and for special requests and is responsible for identifying errors, resolving discrepancies and making recommendations in support of routine operations of assigned financial and/or operational area.Houston Methodist Standard

Responsibilities
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Effectively and proactively communicates with all stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Independently partners with client groups to evaluate needs and identify appropriate data sources.
- Actively participates in meetings and huddles using positive communication and makes positive contributions that contribute to department success.
- Serves as a mentor to more junior team members as appropriate.
- Maintains department level or hospital level systems by the addition of new data and validation of data as appropriate.
- Generates financial reports (in graphical and other presentation forms as needed) and makes sure they are accurate and released on a timely basis according to established schedules and client needs.
- Performs analyses using data for routine monthly reports and special requests.
- Evaluates the accuracy of defined key data elements in financial systems and works to resolve inaccuracies.
- Ensures standards are updated on an accurate and timely basis as appropriate.
- Analyzes and identifies variances found in audits and other reports in order to evaluate possible causes and makes recommendations regarding corrective action as appropriate.
- Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently, demonstrating responsible financial stewardship. Manages own time effectively and prioritizes work to achieve maximum results.
- Recommends, coordinates and performs special projects based upon familiarity with issues of interest to hospital management.
- Stays up to date on reporting processing that might affect data integrity.
- Proactively problem solves when challenges present themselves.
- Proactively manages own professional development. Completes My Development Plan (MDP).
Qualifications
EDUCATION- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Three years experience in budget or cost accounting and analysis
- Healthcare experience preferred
