The role

 

Within an organisation that is embracing the possibilities of what digital transformation can provide, the full time Data Analyst is expected to play a key role in the leadership of building enhanced data analytics capability within the Service Delivery team. With ever increasing connections and large amounts of data, this professional is expected to have a highly specialised data analytics capability and develop an intricate understanding of all South East Water Customer, Asset and Financial Systems and how the data contained within these systems can build understanding and enhance organisational decision making.

 

The role of the Data Analyst is critical to producing reports that will form a key input into Board and executive reporting. The role is also critical in creating an understanding within the business of our performance with respect to network maintenance service delivery, call centre services, customer service, operational performance and the provision of external business services.  Leading the enhancement of data analysis capability across Service Delivery will significantly contribute to greater operational business knowledge.

Who are you?

 

The successful candidate will have a Tertiary qualification in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science or equivalent, and experience in a similar role along with the following:

 

  • Good understanding and capabilities in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Knowledge of water and sewer assets
  • Experience using reporting software such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, Tableau or others
  • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinising, improving and streamlining complex work processes
  • Results driven achiever with good planning and organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple problems at once, along with a high degree of detail orientation
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems
  • Ability to achieve results with sound analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills including the ability to develop innovative solutions
  • Good business intelligence to easily identify needs and opportunities.

This role is remunerated at a Level 5, which is between $112,377 and $125,011 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
