About the role

We’re looking for a full-time Data Architect to join our professional services team, where you’ll work on exciting data projects for our customers while ensuring best-practice delivery.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong software engineering background and experience designing, implementing, and deploying code and infrastructure on cloud platforms—especially in the context of data platforms or AI workloads.

As a Data Architect at HSO/Aware, you’ll provide technical leadership, support sales in unlocking the next steps of the customer journey, and define best practices to upskill our team. You’ll have the unique ability to contribute hands-on while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • Recent (within the last four years) experience as a consultant in a service delivery organisation using the Microsoft Azure stack.
  • Demonstrated expertise in modern data platforms, including Databricks, Azure Purview, Azure Synapse Analytics, CI/CD Pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Current Microsoft Solution Architect Expert certification or similar qualifications in Data and AI on Azure or Databricks platforms.
  • A solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and their application to modern data solutions.
  • Proven ability to understand customer needs, then design, scope, quote, model, and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • The ability to think beyond the immediate solution, considering integration with other technologies. Cross-functional skills in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Machine Learning are a bonus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • A passion for learning and staying ahead of emerging technologies.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to bridge gaps between business requirements and technology.
