Sr Data Scientist

The Data Scientist will lead projects and collaborate with various business partners, including commercial insights teams, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, data teams, external vendors, service owners, and IS partners. This role is responsible for developing analytical models and insights to address business challenges across the PR Operations Organization. The Data Scientist will drive advanced analytics initiatives, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to create significant business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and apply data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence capabilities across commercial organization.
• Lead cross-functional teams on analytical projects that generate substantial business value.
• Identify business needs, conduct SWOT analysis, propose analytical solutions, and execute projects end-to-end.
• Design high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and proof of concepts using Python or R.
• Work with SQL and other database query languages to extract and manipulate data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop methodologies addressing specific business questions.
• Present analysis results and insights clearly to business partners.
• Develop compelling presentations using PowerPoint; proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy requirements related to data assets.

Technical Skills:

• Programming, coding, system design, algorithms, and data structures experience.
• Expertise in statistical software, coding languages (e.g., R, MATLAB, SAS, Python), and database languages (e.g., SQL).
• Ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions using programming techniques.
• Capability to develop solutions for routine technical problems using appropriate tools and methodologies.

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Doctorate degree OR
• Master’s degree in Science or Engineering with 3 years of experience in data science, business analytics, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, engineering, or computer science OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with 5 years of experience in data science, business analytics, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, engineering, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Physics, Statistics, or Operations Research.
• Experience leading and executing data science projects end-to-end.
• Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and Graph databases.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS and ML libraries like Scikit-learn, MLib, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Ability to write well-structured, reusable code in Python, R, or Scala and navigate Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving, logical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills for handling large and complex datasets.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills to work effectively with business partners and IS teams.
• Excellent communication skills for articulating analytical insights in a clear and actionable manner.
• Experience with distributed computing tools (Spark, Hive, etc.).
• Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends in advanced analytics.
• Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
