About the opportunity
The DevOps Engineer works under broad direction, translating accountabilities into tasks to deliver against goals. They are a subject matter expert, provide sound advice and recommendations, resolve complex matters and escalated issues related to their responsibilities.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Deploying and maintaining software infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and other tools.
- Manage the testing and deployment of software infrastructure using best practices to optimize robustness and efficiency.
- Provides timely and effective implementation on system updates, troubleshooting and fixes
- Liaising with clinical centres and project stakeholders to help set up the necessary infrastructure to provide them with deep learning AI diagnostic tools.
- Coordinate and evaluate the system environment and infrastructure setup for clinical centres
- Provide technical support to project control board, team members of stakeholder and clinician and other users
- Implement updates to maintain best practice, monitor user feedback for improving user experiences
- Processing big data using PostgreSQL, performing batch analysis to assist with research activities using scripting languages including Bash, Python, C#, and others.
- Process big data on MSBIR platform using PostgreSQL and scripting languages
- Performing batch analysis on clinical and medical data to contribute to research findings
- Maintain and manage database integrity
- Monitoring system activities and handling any alerts.
- Ensuring an alert system is set up for every critical software deployment
- Handling system errors within agreed timelines, e.g. contacting users, putting the system on hold, applying hot fixes, etc.
- Applying fixes or proposing design changes to resolve system errors
- Ensures work environment is compliant with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensures that working areas are always in a clean and safe condition, and in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Oversees and maintains Workplace Health and Safety records, as per the University’s Workplace Health and Safety policy, ensuring that WHS matters requiring attention are addressed appropriately.
- Implements the University WHS Policy, by pro-actively engaging project members and stakeholders to develop a safe workplace environment, including an awareness of WHS requirements.
- Performs work activities relevant to the role’s key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the role’s classification level.
About you
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications likely with Honours in appropriate discipline with relevant experience in related field.
- Proficient and have experiences in scripting using Bash and Python or similar.
- Proficient and have experiences in basic Linux operations such as file handling, system service management, SSH, SCP, permission management, bash script,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experiences in the deployment and maintenance of production critical systems.
- Experiences with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Experiences with monitoring software system activities and alerts
- Experiences with consuming SQL database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL,
- Well versed in good cybersecurity practices that are relevant for software deployment and maintenance, including the management of keys, certificates, encryption,
- Experiences in working with clients, stakeholders, and a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent coordination skills to lead tasks that involve a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable:
- Experiences with Kubernetes.
- Experiences with Docker or other container technologies.
- Knowledge or experiences in medical imaging.
- Experiences with XNAT.
- Experiences in C#.
