Job Description

AECOM is seeking a motivated and talented Senior Data Analyst & Program and Project Control Analyst to join the Program and Project Management (PPM) East Team in our Arlington, VA office. This pivotal role demands an exceptional blend of technical expertise in data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and project and program control and management systems, coupled with a proven history of driving innovation and hands-on experience within the infrastructure consulting industry. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of advanced project control solutions, develop AI-driven analytics, and optimize workflows for high-impact U.S.-based projects. We are looking for an individual with a progressive career trajectory, ideally within a single organization, demonstrating deep familiarity with company-specific tools and global operational dynamics.

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead Project Management Information System Implementation: Oversee the deployment and optimization of project management information systems (e.g., eBuilder, Kahua or equivalent platforms) for U.S.-based clients, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop AI-Driven Solutions: Design and implement AI and machine learning applications to enhance project efficiency, fraud detection, and energy analytics, leveraging advanced programming and statistical methodologies.
  • Deliver Projects and Consulting Support to Projects Across the US East Region: For AECOM’s multiple clients, provide high-quality services that meets requirements consistently. Must be able to conduct responsibilities with minimal supervision in this client-facing environment.
  • Data Workflow Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate proprietary tools and platforms, ensuring efficient data processing, ETL workflows, and real-time reporting capabilities.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expertise in data visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent platforms), programming (e.g., R, Python, SQL or equivalent platforms), and testing/commissioning of AI-powered hardware and software solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Mentor junior analysts and drive continuous enhancement of project control processes, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and cost savings.
  • Global Collaboration: Engage with international teams to standardize processes and share best practices, applying insights from diverse operational contexts to U.S. projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 6 years of progressive experience in data analytics, project controls, or a related role within the infrastructure consulting or engineering sector in a client-facing role and across multiple projects. Applicable education may be substituted for experience.
  • Experience in energy analytics, geo-spatial solutions, or urban infrastructure projects.

Preferred Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proven expertise with project management information systems (e.g., eBuilder, Kahua, or equivalent platforms).
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as R, Python, SQL, Visual Basic or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong background in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent platforms).
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI and machine learning to solve business or project-related challenges.

Specialized Experience:

  • Familiarity with proprietary tools or platforms unique to the infrastructure consulting industry.
  • International work experience, ideally working and managing projects across U.S. and non-U.S. offices
  • A track record of advancing through roles of increasing responsibility within a single organization, showcasing deep operational insight.
  • Achievements: Documented success in delivering quantifiable outcomes, such as productivity gains, cost savings, or process automation, through innovative analytical solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in testing and commissioning AI-powered hardware/software or developing geo-spatial analytics using APIs (e.g., GeoJSON, Google API or equivalent platforms ).
