Those in corporate law at PwC will provide legal advice and support to clients on various corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and compliance. You will leverage experience in corporate law and the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks.

We are seeking a suitably qualified, attention to detail commercial lawyer who has extensive contract drafting and negotiation experience and is looking to transition into the Legal Tech Artificial Intelligence (AI) space to join our team and play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the commercial contracting process within the legal technology landscape. What You'll Do

● Be the Commercial Legal Liaison: Serve as the subject matter commercial expert on generative AI for internal teams and clients.
● Engage with Customers: Identify pain points in commercial or legal contracts (workflows) and translate them into AI-driven solutions in collaboration with our Engineering, Product, and AI teams.
● Work Hands-On with AI Models: Using your commercial contracting knowledge and review ability to test the latest AI models, engage in prompt engineering (crafting precise and effective instructions (which are known as ‘prompts’) to guide AI models in generating the desired responses), fine-tune large language models (LLMs), and build proprietary datasets with the AI team.
● Apply generative AI to the commercial contracting processes (Legal Use Cases): Stay ahead of AI developments and work with our teams to integrate them into our products.
● Understand the Full Customer Journey: Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure AI solutions align with real-world commercial contracting needs and user experiences.

What You Bring

● A qualified lawyer or commercial contract expert with a strong understanding of contract reviews, drafting, negotiation, playbooks (SOPs), knowledge management experience and willingness to transition into legal AI technologies.
● A problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across different teams.
● A deep interest in commercial contracting processes and its applications in the legal industry.
● Your experience in commercial contract reviews to then apply such knowledge to develop instructions (through prompt engineering).
● Experience of working with AI models is advantageous, however, AI training will be provided to the successful candidate.
● Experience in having managed or developed a team of junior commercial lawyers or paralegals previously.
● Knowledge management experience is advantageous.
● Multi-lingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

● Analyze Commercial contracts or Legal Documents: Examine various types of legal documents to identify key elements and concepts for generative AI prompt generation.
● Create and Refine Prompts: Use generative AI tools to create, test, and refine prompts for different legal scenarios and use cases for client implementation.
● Collaborate with Teams: Work with legal and technical teams to ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of generative AI-generated outputs.
● Provide Feedback: Offer feedback and suggestions to improve our generative AI tools and platforms.
● Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the legal industry and AI technologies.

Additional Duties

● Design and Develop Prompts: Create prompts for a range of commercial process or legal use cases, including contract classification and metadata extraction.
● Evaluate and Improve Prompts: Assess and enhance existing prompts to ensure their effectiveness.
● Understand Business Use Cases: Work with business and product professionals to design and build commercial contract instructions or prompts and solutions that bring business use cases to life.

● Establish Legal Models: Lead the establishment of new legal and contract models and risk frameworks supported by the product.
● Assist with Implementation: Work closely with implementation teams to assist with the deployment of AI solutions.
● User Training: Design and execute user training for both external and internal stakeholders across our AI product and prompt engineering.
● Build and Test Models: Help build, test, and validate new models and use cases as needed.
● Provide Legal Expertise: Offer legal expertise and solutions in product-related discussions, both internal and external.
● Travel: Travel to customer or partner sites as needed.

Qualifications

● A bachelors degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the legal or generative AI domain.
● A good understanding of a wide range of commercial contracts or legal documents and concepts especially on commercial contracts, with the ability to interpret and apply them to different situations.
● High attention to detail, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
● Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with clear and effective communication skills.
● A willingness to learn new skills and technologies, and to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
● A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team spirit.
