Your Opportunity
Scion is paving a path in student living and we’re seeking a Data Scientist to join us in executing our vision.
The Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets to generate actionable insights, build predictive models, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires strong technical expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning, as well as the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will use SQL, programming languages like Python or R, and data visualization tools to transform data into strategic insights that drive business value.
This role is full-time on-site in our corporate office in downtown Chicago.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, providing actionable insights that inform business decisions.
- Build and deploy machine learning models to predict future outcomes, improve business processes, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Use SQL and other tools to clean, manipulate, and transform raw data into structured formats suitable for analysis and modeling.
- Develop clear and compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights and trends effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuously evaluate model performance, refine algorithms, and ensure the models are optimized for accuracy and scalability in production environments.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate predictive models and data-driven insights into company systems and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new algorithms, and emerging technologies in data science to apply best practices and innovative techniques.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data science.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
- Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis.

- Working hours are general daytime business hours

The base salary range for this full-time position is $106,000-$116,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
