The expected start date is flexible.
The appointment’s aim is to strengthen the research in economics within the department. The candidate will become part of a strong team with internationally leading economists within a multi-disciplinary department. At the department, we have several full professors within economics. Our research is impactful and supported by excellence grants such as ERC.
We are seeking candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Developing and applying behavioural economic models
- Lab, field experiments or natural experiments
- Applying advanced statistical tools (econometrics, ML, etc.)
- Conducting policy relevant research
The positions are open to different application fields within economics including environmental, transport, health, ecological, energy, climate, urban, and public economics.
We seek candidates with a high potential for creative and independent research, ability to collaborate and interact with other researchers, and sincere teaching engagement.
Denmark is one of the countries in the world with the highest degree of digitalization, and hence researchers have access to unique longitudinal datasets on households, companies, citizen behaviour, health, labour market, etc. DTU has a close collaboration with public authorities, which secures both impacts of research and access to surveys, experimental and register data.
The position is tenured and full-time and based at DTU Lyngby Campus just north of Copenhagen. Copenhagen is renowned around the world for its relaxed atmosphere and high quality of life.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The key responsibilities of the positions are:
- Conducting excellent research in one or more of the above-mentioned research areas and publication of articles in international high-ranked journals within economics and beyond
- Attracting external funding to the field of research and conducting academic leadership
- Teaching, supervising at bachelor and master level, and supporting early career scholars
- Developing academic and societal visibility and impact
- Collaboration externally within academia, internally within the university as a whole and with stakeholders outside academia

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. We offer possibilities to favourable taxation for non-Danish residence (see Danish Tax Authority), and a competitive salary.
