What You’ll Do
The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) is part of Samsung’s Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash. ACD’s vision is to solve key problems of Cloud & Data center by developing the new technology for memory and storage. We are an integral part of Samsung’s strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to product roadmaps.
Come join the team that is creating new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, data analytics and edge computing. You’ll focus on enhancement of memory and storage capability by developing prototype controllers and optimizing them for mass production.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

- Responsible for the pre-silicon validation of data center SoCs using Emulation/FPGA platforms.
- Lead the planning, development and debugging of full-chip/SoC validation on Emulation/FPGA platforms.
- Define emulation strategy and select appropriate emulation/FPGA platforms.
- Work with architects, designers, verification engineers and software/firmware engineers to develop test strategy, test plans, debug failures.
What You Bring
- BE in Electronics Engineering with 20+ years of working experiences in validation using Emulation and/or FPGA prototype, or Masters with 18+ years or PhD with 15+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Experience in SoC validation using emulation/FPGA platforms like Palladium, Zebu and HAPs.
- Experience in designing transactors, porting designs for emulation platforms.
- Experience in technically leading the validation activity using emulation platforms.
- Knowledge in overall SoC design/verification/validation flows.
- Experience and knowledge in scripting language like Python and Perl.
- Self-motivated problem-solver with an ability to work well in a team.

Preferred skills:
- Experience and knowledge in AI/ML accelerator and HBM technology.
- Experience in handling D2D, ARM processors, ARM CoreSight, HBM controller.
- Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Creativity in problem solving.
