Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all things data - how we land, enrich, and get data into our lake and warehouse so every team can make data-driven decisions and trust reports are clean and make sense.
  • Partner with all stakeholders and leaders to make sure that the data needed is available to our product, business analysts, and both internal and external customers and partners, and the data adheres to the definitions.
  • You will oversee a team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and BI Analysts so you have a good understanding of how to build and design modern ingest to insights platforms.
  • You will oversee an analytics team that creates and manages dashboards and reports for monitoring KPIs across all areas of the business.
  • You are expected to prepare clear and concise communications (e.g., documents, presentations) to present findings and recommendations to internal partners.
  • You will be expected to partner with almost every team to ensure we capture the data needed to understand business performance and consult on data infrastructure strategy.

Requirements:

  • You have extensive experience (ideally around 10 years) in data stewardship with an emphasis on data governance and quality.
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, data science, or statistics
  • You understand how to build a data practice for an eCommerce business with many customers.  You should be able to articulate processes, data governance, and get technical with ETL pipelines and technologies.
  • You have extensive experience in eCommerce.
  • Experience implementing and managing data ingestion and data analytics projects, including budgeting, timeline, and resource management.
  • You must have technical skills as well, including but not limited to multidimensional data extraction and aggregation capabilities using SQL, Python, R, Excel, Athena, Looker, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate challenging analysis requests to come up with the best approach to solving a problem.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, and communicate complex data insights in a clear, understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to haves:

  • You have experience and understand how to leverage AI to enrich data
  • Professional certifications like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or specific tool certifications (e.g., for Tableau, AWS, Google Cloud)
