Assistant Manager - Forecast Accuracy Specialist-ANA016687

Inviting applications for the role of AM (Assistant Manager), Forecast Accuracy Specialist for the role in Forecast & Planning. 

The Forecast Accuracy and Planning Specialist will be responsible for measuring and improving forecast accuracy across all demand, supply, and return streams. The role involves publishing, automating, and targeting improvements in forecast accuracy, as well as showcasing overall improvements in inventory, fulfilment, and logistics benefits. The specialist will work on systemic and offline forecast methods, outlier detection, and correction, and support the execution of Sales & Operations processes. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Forecast Accuracy Improvement: 

  • Measure and improve forecast accuracy by 10% year-over-year for site down parts and 5% for other parts. 

  • Publish and automate forecast accuracy reports. 

  • Exclude non-active and top critical parts from accuracy targets. 

  • Inventory and Fulfilment Improvement: 

  • Measure and showcase improvements in inventory, fulfilment, and logistics benefits. 

  • Track and reduce Out of Pole Shipments (OOPS) and backorders. 

  • Save net cash flow for the business. 

  • Systemic Forecast Accuracy: 

  • Publish and showcase systemic forecast accuracy improvements. 

  • Identify and work on improvement areas in the planning system. 

  • Suggest and drive systemic improvements with proper validation. 

  • Offline Forecast Methods: 

  • Complement systemic forecasts with offline forecast methods using R. 

  • Monitor and validate forecasting overrides. 

  • Outlier Detection and Correction: 

  • Improve systemic outlier detection and correction. 

  • Complement with global outlier correction methods. 

  • Analyse demand increases and manage outliers at pair, part, or region level. 

  • Sales & Operations Process: 

  • Help form and execute a formidable Sales & Operations process. 

  • Support additional AI forecast models to complement statistical forecasting. 

  • Planning and Reporting: 

  • Participate in the Planning CoE and align with business priorities. 

  • Present progress on deliverables in weekly operations meetings. 

  • Minimize discrepancies in proactive item health checks. 

  • Automate planning reporting, trending, and tracking to focus more on actions. 

  • Data Quality and Testing: 

  • Improve planning data quality in reports, repair, forecast, and Distribution Resource Planning. 

  • Participate in testing and validation activities for planning and Service Part Management initiatives. 

Qualifications we seek in you! 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science or related field. 

  • Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, and supply chain management. 

  • Proficiency in statistical forecasting methods and tools R, Python. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills 

  • Experience with AI and machine learning models for forecasting. 

  • Knowledge of Service Part Management systems and configuration. 

  • Familiarity with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Ability to drive systemic improvements and validate changes. 

  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
