HR Expert Solution Architect

The Expert Technology team is a cross-functional team of software development and AI specialists who bring best-in-class analytics, thought leadership, and expertise in designing, building, and supporting the Expert technology solution.

The Role

Exciting opportunity for an HR Expert Solution Architect to design and develop full-stack web components and AI-powered features within an Agile software product development team. 

You will partner with all software product development disciplines (including engineering, architecture, product owners, quality assurance, and analysts) to develop and maintain web software products that meet the needs of our global client base, utilizing industry-standard best practices and modern software engineering techniques.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leverage your extensive software delivery experience to ensure the successful delivery of projects, providing technical leadership and serving as a subject matter expert.
• Take ownership of delivering business-related projects, ensuring all solutions and architectures align with business goals.
• Help strategize technical solutions for projects and lead the execution with the team, ensuring the highest quality architectural and technical execution.
• Prioritize aligning all solutions and enhancements with architectural, development, and security standards.
• Work with the Technical Team to drive the team's adoption of best practices, new technologies, and standards.
• Work according to defined development best practices and principles to enable the organization to deliver industry-leading technology solutions.
• Adhere to, promote, and continuously improve development practices, collaborate on low-level design, and perform code reviews to maintain high standards.
• Influence the Program on priorities and decisions based on risk, cost, time, and feasibility.
• Awareness and adherence to Compliance and Regulatory requirements.
• Able to assess, review, improve, and establish design patterns, best practices, and Enterprise standards with the program.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations.
• Build and enhance your domain knowledge to inform and improve technical solutions and architectures.
• Engage in hands-on development of class-leading web-based applications and services, adhering to software best practices and contributing to the technical architecture.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of technical architecture to ensure that all enhancements and solutions are delivered according to the company's vision.
• Demonstrate agility and the ability to think outside the box, challenging established development processes and procedures to drive innovation.
• Work closely with the Global team to maintain strong communication and ensure alignment on technical strategies.
• Bring your enthusiasm and proactive approach to improve and work smarter by staying informed about technology trends and directions outside the organization.
• Provide support and advice to more junior team members, helping them grow and develop their technical and architectural skills.

The Requirements

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience leading, influencing, and guiding solution delivery
• Strong work ethic with a desire to improve yourself through your work
• Extensive software development experience
• Strong experience with Angular (7-18+)
• Demonstratable C# and Typescript competency with experience working with .NET Core and Python.
• Hands-on commercial experience in Azure cloud
• Experience using Azure DevOps
• Experience with AI-related skills and projects, including developing and implementing machine learning models, working with language processing techniques, utilizing deep learning frameworks, and integrating AI solutions into existing systems.
• Experience mentoring and guiding team members
• Experience with all phases of the SDLC, including maintenance and with Agile methodologies
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a broader project team
• First-rate communication skills and ability to apply these to rapid and creative problem-solving in an occasionally pressurized environment. 
• Comfortable working in a remote situation or face-to-face in meetings with stakeholders
• Experience with AI-related skills and projects, including developing and implementing machine learning models, working with language processing techniques, utilizing deep learning frameworks, and integrating AI solutions into existing systems.

Desirable:

• BSc degree qualified educated in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Science or Computer Science)
• Experience building and working with mathematical algorithms
• Experience with microservice-based architectures
• Experience understanding and translating complex business processes involving stakeholder groups and perspectives
• Experience working in a financial services organization, preferably with exposure to the insurance industry/insurance broking. Where this directly relevant experience is not available, we will be looking for an ability to rapidly become effective in a new, unfamiliar environment
• The successful applicant will report to the Expert technology function and leadership. 
• The role offers hybrid working. Travel to the office is expected on a regular cadence for meetings and workshops. Some occasional travel may be required to engage with business and technology stakeholders.
