Data Science Summer Intern

CSSI, Inc. delivers transportation safety innovations, systems engineering and operational efficiencies for government and private industries.We are looking for candidates that have academic course work, completed projects or have prior work experience with:
Required:
- Programming languages including Python, Java, SQL
- Experience in developing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models
- Predictive algorithms and data analytics on large-scale, real-world datasets
- Familiarity with aviation industry related data (Track data, geospatial data, weather)
- Version control software (Git, Azure)
Preferred:
- Data visualization tools like Tableau
- Deploying web applications with AWS or similar cloud services
- Understanding of SQL query optimization and schema design
- Experience with ETL processes
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in any degree program (Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, Engineering, Data Science or related field preferred) at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, or graduate students.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
- DC/Maryland/Northern Virginia area candidates preferred.
Dates and Details: This internship will run from mid to late May through Mid-August at 40 hours per week. Intern will report to senior team leaders. The team’s office hours are between 9am-5:30pm EST.
Benefits: Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
