Support critical defense operations as a Software Systems Engineer, Craftsman at Schriever Space Force Base. In this role, you will develop and apply software solutions to evaluate the performance of ground-based missile warning systems. Your work will directly impact national security through operational testing, data analysis, and performance assessments.

Pay: $155,000 - $170,000

Essential Duties

Software Development & Testing

  • Develop software tools to support operational testing of DoD mission systems.
  • Design and implement software solutions to analyze mission data and assess system performance.
  • Conduct real-world and simulated environment testing to evaluate system effectiveness.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Apply statistical methods using platforms like MATLAB to analyze test data.
  • Generate detailed test reports with statistical results, graphs, and findings.
  • Identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for system improvements.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with engineers, test analysts, and project managers to ensure test requirements are clearly defined.
  • Provide technical support for test planning, execution, and post-test analysis.
  • Develop and enhance automated tools to improve test environment efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Perl, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket/Gitlab, Confluence).
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods, including data distribution, sampling, and regression analysis.
  • Experience with DoD mission systems and operational test planning.
  • Knowledge of US Space Force test and evaluation directives.
  • Familiarity with missile warning or missile defense systems.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred OR additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Clearance

  • Top Secret/SCI

Travel

  • Less than 10%.
