Position Summary

Telework: Possibility for hybrid work (2 days remote/week) after completion of probationary period

Your Mission

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Materials, you will be responsible for strategic analysis, business intelligence, and data management for the Materials activities in Canada. This role combines a foundation in finance with strong Management of Information Technology skills to extract data, present insights, and drive operational improvements by enhancing our data collection and analysis processes.

Main Responsibilities

Data Analyses & Extraction:

• Extract and analyze the data, by utilizing advanced tools and techniques from large Enterprise Resource Planning systems to create and enhance Key Performance Indicators relevant for the Materials business.
• Develop and implement automated data extraction processes to ensure timely and consistent data retrieval for the Materials department on a national level.
   

Analysis & Reporting Strategy:

• Analyze extracted data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
• Create and improve comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations based on extracted data to support decision-making processes.
• Structure specific financial analysis in alignment with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Question the Business to ensure a good understanding on the result.
   

Data Quality Assurance:

• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of extracted data by performing thorough quality checks.
• Resolve data discrepancies and errors by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
   

Collaboration:

• Work with the Colas Canada Finance's team to develop tools, approaches, and methodologies required to analyse financial data for aggregates and ready mix activities in Canada.
• Work with the Colas Materials team at head office to develop tools, approaches, and methodologies required to support performance and strategic plans
• Coordinate activities with representatives from the Colas Canada Inc subsidiaries
   

Your profile

• University Degree in business (Finance/Accounting), in Management of Information Technology or equivalent.
• 5-6 years of work experience in strategy consulting, data extraction & analysis, or a related field
• Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical mind, and ability to tell stories with data
• Strong sense of initiative, high productivity, and willingness to learn about finance, systems, and the materials business (aggregates and ready mix concrete)
• Able to travel within Canada and internationally
• Excellent knowledge of Excel
• Excellent knowledge of Management of Information Technology

Considered assets:

• Experience in data visualization tools (PowerBI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
• Bilingual (English/French)
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and automated data extraction processes
• Good financial and/or strategic data analysis knowledge and understanding of operational perspectives
• Ability to develop and apply E-commerce strategies
