Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
The Admission, Discharge, Transfer Electronic Patient Record (ADT EPR) is a system that is the source client information that interfaces to other downstream systems used for patient care. The Data Integrity and Training Analyst will perform data analysis, information management and training for the EPR modules, EMR and chart tracking system including: Monitoring data quality and working with other system organizations to resolve data quality issues. Facilitating continuous improvement in the quality of patient information across systems. Facilitating improvement of processes relating to registration, health records, and client data integrity. Facilitating the analysis, redesign and documentation of processes including business flow, transformation and current state/future state/gap analysis to ensure acceptance and compliance facilitating the delivery of training/retraining to users. Maintaining regular communication with and providing support to other system organization stakeholders.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a health information services environment with a focus on analysis, data management and the promotion of data quality and integrity.
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge/experience with Business Objects, SQL, and Cognos is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Health Information Technologist program diploma required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Active membership in the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) if applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Sound understanding of desktop application software and information system applications (e.g., ADT EPR, chart tracking) in order to develop education, provide direction and to work effectively with site contacts and application maintenance teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of registration and records management practices.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate development, transformation and implementation of business processes and policies.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with Health Information Services, Clinical Programs, eHealth software vendors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compiling statistical reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge of educational techniques in order to train new or existing employees on systems applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and instructional skills.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize demands to meet deadlines and achieve defined customer service levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Manitoba Personal Health Information Act.
- Knowledge of emerging provincial/national/international trends in data management and naming conventions.
- Ability to work independently and be confident in decision-making.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team setting.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly.
