It’s an exciting time to join the Technology team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers, streamline, and automate our business processes, whilst ensuring the continued stability and performance of our legacy platforms. We're looking for an experienced Lead Data Integration Engineer to join our Engineering team, to help delivery of our digital roadmap, develop our people and capabilities, and support Engineering strategy to drive improvements across all teams. 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a product-led operating model, where all our teams are value stream aligned with all the different resource types needed to get from idea to done with minimal hand-offs. We are focused on building out our Single Digital Platform, centred around Salesforce, with data integrations to our legacy platforms and involving a significant .NET estate, use of Azure services and various frontend web applications. 

 

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either working at your assigned local office, or travelling elsewhere based on business need. Available local office locations are Leeds, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells, and Bournemouth. What you'll be doing: 

  • Leading by example in an agile engineering team, inspiring excellence, being hands-on to set best practices and ensure correct designs and implementation, and taking ownership of meeting delivery outcomes as per our product roadmap 
  • Driving the design, development and ongoing support of data integrations surrounding our strategic customer platform (Salesforce based) 
  • Working in a DevOps operating model, leading on the build and run of our data integrations, focussing initially on Azure Data Factory but building out additional tooling to deliver real-time data integrations to support the scaling of our platform
  • Ensuring accurate documentation, automation, and monitoring of data integrations in AXA Health’s platform 
  • Acting as a line manager and mentor for members of our development team
  • Promoting continuous improvement both within specific technology areas and across the IT department

What you’ll bring: 

 

  • Proven experience leading a high performing engineering team 
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce via real-time, batch, sync/async
  • An expert working with databases and database architecture, SQL and Stored Procedures
  • Proven experience with Data integration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Apache airflow, Databricks AutoLoader 
  • Ability to build CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
  • Experience with event driven data flows and message aggregators (Event Hub, Apache Kafka) 
  • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and their potential to deliver business benefits 
  • Hands on experience working with data matching processes would be highly desirable  
  • Ability to translate business strategy into technical solutions and business requirements into technical design
