Methods Analytics (MA) is recruiting for a Senior Technical Architect with good cloud and Kubernetes experiences to join our team a permanent basis.

This role will be hybrid, requiring flexibility to regular travel to our client sites in the Southwest of England, and occasionally one of our offices in either London, Sheffield, or Bristol.

What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Technical Architect:

  • Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that form the backbone of the enterprise analytics platform.
  • Develop and oversee the architecture for data ingestion, processing, integration, and analytics, leveraging cloud technologies to ensure flexibility and high availability.
  • Architect and manage Kubernetes deployments in the cloud, ensuring container orchestration is robust and scalable across development, pre-production, and production environments.
  • Utilise modern data technologies and a suite of industry-leading open-source tools (e.g. the Apache stack) to create a modular and agile architecture that drives enterprise analytics. Embed DevSecOps practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring security, compliance, and performance are integrated into automated deployment pipelines.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring automated, repeatable, and scalable cloud infrastructure provisioning.

Your Impact:

  • Shape the strategic direction of the platform and drive enterprise-wide digital transformation, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Deliver cost-efficient, high-performance systems that meet critical business outcomes while ensuring robust security and compliance.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by streamlining processes and breaking down silos, contributing to a collaborative and innovative environment.

Requirements

You Will Demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience designing and deploying enterprise architectures in cloud-native and hybrid environments, ensuring solutions.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration across cloud platforms (OCI, AKS, EKS, GKE, or OKE) to build scalable and reliable environments.
  • Proven expertise in modern data ingestion, processing, and analytics tools that drive large-scale, enterprise data solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-leading open-source tools (e.g., the Apache stack) that foster a flexible, innovative, and vendor lock-in free environment.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, security automation, and compliance-driven infrastructure management.
  • Experience working in Agile and cross-functional teams, collaborating with architects, engineers, and security specialists.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • A comprehensive understanding of service design, data governance, security, and compliance in multi-tenant settings.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing cross-functional, high-complexity projects and making well-informed, strategic decisions.

You may also have some of the desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, and GitOps methodologies (e.g., ArgoCD).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Logstash.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including Kubernetes networking policies, service mesh (e.g., Istio), and cloud networking.
  • Exposure to high-performance, low-latency data systems or large-scale data environments.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • A proven track record of mentoring teams and driving continuous improvement in enterprise technology environments.

Security Clearance:

UKSV (United Kingdom Security Vetting) DV (Developed Vetting) clearance is required for this role, either already held or with a willingness to undergo the process. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS); details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website GOV.UK – Government baseline personnel security standard. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected. Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
