MMC is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Cluj Napoca office: Senior Data Engineer

We will count on you to:

• Work in tandem with source system and application teams to integrate and establish data pipelines using Databricks, S3, Athena and other AWS services.
• Understand data landscape i.e., tooling, tech stack, source systems etc. and work closely with extended platform teams to improve data collection, quality, reporting and analytics capabilities
• Conceptualize and create PoCs to optimize data ingestion and ETL processing capabilities
• Build reusable and scalable data pipelines and new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
• Be proactive and optimize SQL statements and processes

What you need to have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
• 4+ years of relevant experience with Data Ingestion/ETL/ELT, Big Data, Data Lake in mission-critical platforms
• Experience with schema design and dimensional data modelling
• Strong SQL experience, Python and PySpark development
• Experience working on AWS and related services (not limited to) such as Athena, S3, Glue
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing expectations and requirements (Agile Scrum)
