Computer Science Internship: Apache Superset in Data Analytics Platform

Introduction

At ASML, we take great care that our lithography machines operate correctly. This includes their output: wafers with chips being constructed on them are carefully analyzed at various steps throughout their lifecycle. This yields us with so-called on-product data­. Both ASML and our customers carefully analyze these data to ensure our machines are operating correctly. Every month, ASML ingests numerous TB's of data for analytical purposes. Our data analytics platform – iACT – plays a crucial role in this process. iACT loads, processes, and visualizes these on-product data with a focus on flexibility, performance, and comprehensiveness.
 

Your Assignment

You will focus on the following key responsibilities:

• Investigate reusability of iACT’s data-layer for visualization in the open-source BI tool Apache Superset;

• Connecting Apache Superset to the data layer;

• Explore the creation of plots and dashboards created in Apache Superset which can be deployed and versioned independent from Apache SuperSet;

• You demonstrate your findings in a Proof of Concept.
   

This is a HBO or Master's apprentice/graduation internship for 3 months for 5 days a week (minimum 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.
 

Your profile

To be a fit this assignment, you:

• Are a HBO/Master's student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar;

• Have knowledge of Java, Python, Docker and REST-ful webservices;

• Have affinity with TypeScript, PostGreSQL, Apache Superset, and Spark;

• Are outgoing, proactive, well-organized, stress resilient;

• Have great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
                               

Other requirements you need to meet

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
   

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
