Department Overview

The Technology Solutions Department is responsible for designing and delivering state of the art technology solutions that are designed to create efficiency, mitigate risk and grow revenue for the Firm. Technology Solutions is also responsible for defining, managing and executing a robust Cyber Security program following the NIST Cyber Security Framework. Technology Solutions focuses on technical excellence through innovative application designs, robust data integration and analytics, high availability infrastructure and gold level service for our key stakeholders with information security embedded throughout. Critical functions within Technology Solutions include Project Management, Vendor Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Data Governance and Stewardship, Application Development and 3rd Party Integration, Strategic and Secure Infrastructure and Operations. The Technology Solutions Department collaborates closely with Firm leadership and business unit heads to develop plans in line with business objectives.

Position Responsibilities

TS is looking for an experienced Program and Project Manager (PM) to expand our project management capabilities in Data Governance Projects.  These projects are highly visible and span across the Firm.

This is a hands-on role responsible for planning, implementing and closing projects within a specified timeframe.  The PM is responsible for creating Microsoft project plans and / or using Azure Dev Ops to track tasks, identify and track milestones and dependencies, manage risks / issues and communicate project status to all stakeholders. It is expected that the person in this role will have led large, complex projects and / or multi-project programs with high visibility across multiple stakeholders and senior management. Because it is a very comprehensive role, it is also expected that the person in this role will coordinate work and influence outcomes across a variety of resources.

The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, an inquisitive nature, a passion for excellent service, the ability to self-start, be resourceful and have a solid understanding of data and systems.  This is a client-facing role requiring communication with users at all levels, so exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Data Analysis: Understand data flows and hierarchies within the Firm (including how data is sourced and aggregated) to enable reporting and analysis capabilities
  • Quickly get up to speed on our project management standards and practices
  • Successfully manage projects applying effective methods, techniques, and standards from start to finish:
    • Analyze and understand the data and application landscape and objectives of the projects
    • Work closely with the data governance team, business units and TS to ensure project delivery meets all desired business specifications
    • Develop comprehensive, detailed project plans either in Microsoft Project or Azure Dev Ops
    • Meet with project team members to identify tasks and dependencies to build out a comprehensive plan and coordinate with cross-discipline team members to ensure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines and schedules
    • Track risks and issues, ensuring they are assigned and resolved as appropriate
    • Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information
  • Organize work and focus the team on what needs to be accomplished and prioritized
  • Be creative, flexible, “in the details” and influential while handling all phases of a project to ensure successful outcomes:
    • Exhibit resourcefulness in proactively identifying and engaging available resources and subject matter experts in related areas to achieve your goals
    • Build strong and productive relationships with key business stakeholders, sponsors and technology colleagues
    • Learn and understand the project business requirements / solutions to actively manage the work toward completion
    • Confidently facilitate meetings with all levels of the organization including senior business stakeholders and senior management
    • Ensure that all delivered solutions meet the highest quality standards and satisfy all specified business requirements, meet technical standards and adhere to robust data security requirements through thorough validation and testing
    • Demonstrate an ability to multitask and manage time and priorities under pressure and to meet deadlines

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Subject matter expert in Microsoft Project, Agile methodologies and Scrum processes
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio, Azure Dev Ops)
  • Self-motivated, team oriented and able to multi-task
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive can-do attitude and willingness to help out as needed
  • Meticulous with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills across a variety of audiences

Compensation and Benefits

For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $155,000 to $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
