Introduction to role:
We lead AstraZeneca’s MDM (Master Data Management) enterprise initiative, focusing on enterprise master data standards, data governance, data integrity, and driving the FAIR agenda of the organization with master data. We identify the master data entities of the enterprise, manage the rollout of MDM solutions for the identified entities, and help the business realize the value of high-quality master data. Centralized, trusted, and high-quality master data is key for accelerating our business processes as we empower the enterprise functions with digital capabilities to innovate at speed and make effective data-driven decisions. We are working to establish a strong MDM capability, built on the latest healthcare domain standards, to collaborate effectively with our business partners internal and external to AstraZeneca.
Accountabilities:
Collaborate with our MDM business stakeholders, solution architects, tech leads, data stewards, business analysts, and data quality assurance analysts to deliver high-quality MDM solutions into production.
Lead business analysts and data analysts in designing workflows, process flows, and data flows between systems.
Analyze business requirements and build technical design documents that align with the company's architecture standards.
Proficient in MDM/RDM technical design, industry standards to ensure alignment with enterprise coding standards, ensure high-quality automated unit testing, and code management practices.
Expertise in using Java and other programming tools and languages for data integration between systems.
Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills on Java/J2EE technologies experience, working with coordination of multiple teams.
Work with DevOps engineers to automate the code review, deployment, and rollback processes of MDM.
Create clear documentation for MDM solutions, provide knowledge sharing, and transition the solution to BAU team post successful go-live and warranty phase.
Prioritise, meet deadlines, and produce quality results.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Good Understanding of Master and Reference Data management.
Proficient in MDM/RDM technical design, industry standards, best patterns, and unit test automation practices.
Operational understanding of common data models, data standards, vocabularies and their implementation within a centralized repository.
Proficient skills on Java/J2EE technologies.
Proven experience with development software such as (e.g. Java, Python).
Experience in presenting with stakeholders, providing leadership and mentorship to project teams, and monitoring and reporting on progress and outcomes to leadership.
Good written documentation skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience of working in a regulated environment (GxP or similar).
Experience in MDM/RDM Architecture and Data Modelling principles.
Working in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or similar landscapes.
Hands-on experience in building REST APIs and Integration using technologies such as MuleSoft, SnapLogic or similar.
Experience and familiarity with a range of automated deployment tools e.g. Jenkins CI/CD. Familiarity with source control workflows including Pull Request, Code Review, Approval, Merge.
DevOps experience including deployment automation, code review automation, code repository process automation and code coverage & unit testing automation.
