The team

BIaaS (Business Intelligence as a Service) is a global product that offers to ING worldwide two platforms, Cognos Analytics and PowerBI (Report Server and Cloud Service), to serve the BI and reporting needs of the Business.

To provide this service the product is managed by a product team, two technical support platform teams and a Center of Excellence (CoE). The scope of the CoE is to provide functional support, training and advice to the business and its users to make optimal use of the BI platforms to fulfil their business needs.

The CoE now consists of two fulltime functional support members and the parttime support of the Product Lead.

The vacancy is for one fulltime functional support member of the CoE, with a platform specialization on PowerBI.

What you as a CoE member will do

• Generic BI as a Service

• present and explain the position, role, potential and limitations of BI and reporting to an audience of potential Business Users and their management.
• present the BI product we offer to the business: the flavours (governed, managed end-user, full self-service); the platforms (Cognos, PowerBI), how it complies with the ING policies and standards and its roadmap.
• advice a business on what is the best product fit for their reporting and BI needs within what ING offers.
• translate business needs into specific platform solutions
• advice and support a business in the execution of a BI roadmap
• advice in the design and implementation of the security and access aspects of a BI deployment / onboarding for a specific organization unit

• Interaction stakeholders

• act as the intermediary between the business and the technical application support groups and is able to translate business needs into proposals that the tech support group can elaborate on.
• point the product team (product lead, architect, engineering lead) to new requests and insights from the business to develop the product.

• Specific PowerBI

• provide functional support on the use of PowerBI (first and second line)
• provide design and support on the security setup of a shared workspace PowerBI
• provide training and masterclasses in the use of PowerBI Cloud service
• manage and update the training and masterclass curriculum for PowerBI and BIaaS
• manage the user support documentation on BIaaS and the PowerBI
• manage and moderates the PowerBI user group in ING

What you’ll bring to the team

• Experience:
• At least 2 years' experience in functional support and advice on (the use of) of Business Intelligence to business users
• At least 1 year of user experience in the use of PowerBI Desktop, Server and CloudService
• Experience in translating business BI requirements to (technical) proposals for platform teams
• Experience in conducting training and masterclasses to starters and experienced PowerBI users
• Experience in working in an international global context
• Preferably experience in working in the more risk and compliance prone financial services industry
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of best practices.
• Foreign languages: English (advanced)
• Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field
