As the Associate Director, Data and Insights, you will be responsible for leading and managing the data, analytics, and insights products and processes for our team. This has the responsibility for delivering analytics, reports and insights to senior leaders, our Tech leadership team, and our business partners cross-company. It is an opportunity to work with data and insights that are used for global and enterprise decisions.
The role holder will manage a small team of analysts and data experts, and together you will own data processes, analytics, reporting and insights, as well as upskilling and teaching new analytics and insights processes to the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
Lead and manage a small team of direct reports; experts and SME’s in data and analytics.
Lead and manage a portfolio of products including data processes, analytics solutions, visualization reports and insights opportunities in a matrix organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and digital proficiency across the teams.
Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics and insights strategy, improving automation, reducing friction and harnessing the latest in technology from our Tech platforms and tools teams.
Plan and lead the execution of impactful improvements aligned to prioritized analytics and insights.
Work with senior leaders to oversee routine reporting and insights processes, delivering trusted data and reports, as well as responding to ad hoc and urgent requests for unpredicted insights.
Build and manage a backlog of work, prioritise tasks for yourself and the team and deliver to plan.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the analytics and insights, and the experience of the users.
Stay current and leading with industry trends and best practices in digital capability and GSK technologies for insights.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to drive support and advocacy.

Basic Qualification

Proven experience managing software development projects, preferably in the field of business intelligence and data analytics.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer science, or a related field.
Proven experience in leading and managing analytics and insights processes and solutions.
Strong understanding of data visualization tools, eg. Power BI, its components, dependencies, PBI landscape.
Proficiency in software programming languages (eg. Python).
Proficiency in database management and SQL.
Understanding of machine learning, AI and generative AI and their application to analytics driven processes.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Business acumen with the ability to translate between business problems and data and analytics solutions.
Demonstrated learning agility and organizational skills, with the ability to deal with complexity in a fast-paced working environment. and experienced with the use of Agile delivery frameworks.
Preferred Experience / qualifications and skills:
Master’s degree or MBA in a related field.
16+ years of experience in digital capability, analytics, insights and visualization roles.
Demonstrated experience of managing people, building and developing teams.
Experience working with global teams and managing cross-cultural dynamics.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
A curious, innovative mindset, able to rethink processes and take opportunities to deliver solutions using new technologies (eg GenAI).
