At Lyft, we are building a more connected world, ride by ride. Whether it's an everyday commute or a journey that changes everything, we are driven by our purpose: to serve and connect. To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for their input.

Since 2020, Lyft Mexico has been building its team and in May 2022, we opened an office in the heart of Mexico City. We have grown to more than 200 team members across key business areas in the country, and we are looking to continue growing by providing team members with the best work experience

Data Curation Operations is a team which supports all ongoing curation projects for Mapping and other teams at Lyft. Our mission is to improve customer experience in Lyft products by providing high-quality, comprehensive, and efficient data curation operations.

In this role, you will collaborate with our world class team of engineers, product managers, and team leaders to continuously improve curation operations through metrics and reporting. We're looking for a passionate, driven Data Analyst who is excited to dive into the details of a large operational organization to design and build dashboards, report on metrics to senior leaders, and leverage data to improve organizational decision making.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, like to solve challenging problems, and want to be part of the next big thing at Lyft, we would love to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage data and analytic frameworks to identify opportunities for operational improvements across a large organization
  • Establish and maintain metrics that measure the health and performance of internal teams and third-party vendors (e.g., quality, efficiency, impact of work)
  • Build dashboards and models to provide teams with actionable insights, aiding in decision making and prioritization
  • Monitor service levels and overall curator performance, alert and advise on improvements as needed
  • Utilize data and analyses to influence org strategy and roadmaps
  • Regularly partner with Product, Engineering, Team Leads, Data Science, and Designers
  • Present findings, recommendations, and results to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., during regular metrics reviews)
  • Generate regular metrics reports and interpret results in visual summaries
  • Conduct impact assessments for work completed by the Data Curation team
  • Provide UX feedback on internal and third party dashboards

Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in management consulting, operations, strategic data science/analytics roles in a technology company, or an equivalent analytical role in a high growth startup
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering (advanced degrees also an asset)
  • Proficiency in SQL - ability to independently break down large datasets and synthesize inputs from multiple sources
  • Ability to craft a compelling story and concisely present recommendations across teams and levels including both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to use data visualization tools to provide actionable insights and reusable frameworks
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, effectively splitting time across an organization whose work consists of dozens of concurrent programs.
  • Basic understanding of python
  • Self-directed and organized: You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You have a bias for action while maintaining attention to detail. You effectively prioritize multiple competing workflows. You know when to ask for support and you approach your work with a seize-the-day attitude.
  • Strong and proactive communicator: You excel in verbal and written communication (English). You can adapt your communication style to work with team members from all corners of the organization, and you proactively share updates on workflows you own. Within your own team you are able to take direction and feedback, as well as ask for support in order to successfully carry out tasks and see projects to completion.
  • Always a team player: You're positive, optimistic, and willing to help out wherever needed. You support your team in brainstorming and always keep stakeholders up to date through your world-class verbal and written communication skills. You are able to coach and develop team members within your organization.
  • Nice to have
    • Experience with mapping, GIS, cartography or any related fields. Experience using Open Street Map.
    • Experience working with third-party vendors and partners
    • Experience with Jira and Google Workspace products
    • Strong product and user experience sense
