Position Overview

The Manager of Corporate Data Governance will report to the Privacy Officer and Data Governance Director and is responsible for leading and managing organization-wide data governance activities. He/she will have responsibility for identifying and managing the risks and protection programs supporting sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework. Data governance includes the management of proactively inventorying, organizing, protecting, storing, and sharing data for Fujifilm Americas region, supporting data policies and practices, both at a business departmental and functional level for approximately twenty-five subsidiaries.

 

The Data Governance Manager serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with the Company’s Data Privacy and Protection Counsel, Privacy Officer, and the Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the department.

 

This position is responsible for managing individuals who oversee, analyze, and implement remediation plans to mitigate risks associated with access controls, and the inventory and handling of company and customer critical and sensitive data and associated systems.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of risk mitigation and the protection of sensitive data through user education, policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and risk management plans.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s critical information assets (data and associated IT systems).
  • Manage the day-to-day operations roles and responsibilities of the assigned team members. Serve as a liaison between business units, IT Functional areas and technology, Compliance and Legal to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Privacy Officer, provide progress reports to Data Governance Committee on required program changes, data risks/mitigation requirements and periodic updates to the data governance strategy/roadmap.
  • Continuously review data management processes and procedures to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.
  • Assist in compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g. GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2).
  • Oversee data classification, access controls, and data lifecycle management strategies.
  • Lead data governance training and awareness programs for employees and stakeholders.
  • All other activities assigned by the Privacy Officer and Data Governance Director.

 

Required Skills/Education

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Management, Data Science or related qualifications.
  • CIPP(US/E), CDMP, CISA, certifications or equivalent in experience.

 

Data Governance Experience

  • 5 - 8 years of work experience in managing Data Governance operations, Information Security management, Compliance or related roles.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools and data management platforms (e.g. OneTrust).

Desired Skills

  • Experience working in a Shared Service organization, supporting numerous different industry security frameworks and regulations.
  • Real life experience establishing a data governance program from the ground up.

 

Salary and Benefits

  • $100,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
