We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of Technical Product Design Energy, Sustainability and Urban Mobility. Our team develops and operates innovative services and customer functions in the areas of navigation, electromobility and autonomous driving. We are part of an in-house software development department. Our team's mission is to generate the greatest possible value for our customers and decision-makers empowered by anonymized vehicle sensor data.

What awaits you?

• Manage and monitor the performance, availability, and security of our backend servers, databases and middleware components.
• Automate and optimize routine backend operations tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Identify and resolve issues, implement improvements to our backend infrastructure and upgrade software components and libraries.
• Explore existing AI automotive applications to enhance overall operations and maintainability.

What should you bring along? 

• At least 4 semesters of computer science, control engineering, physics, robotics or comparable.
• Good knowledge in Python and Java.
• Good knowledge in public cloud technologies, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, Kubernetes and Prometheus is an advantage.
• Knowledge in Data Science is an advantage.
• Profound English skills. German skills are an advantage.
