Job Description

Purpose of the role

To  lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives. 

Accountabilities

  • Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
  • Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
  • Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
  • Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
  • Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.

To be successful in this role, you should have: 

  • Deep expertise in implementing AI/GenAI solutions, including experience with AI agents and large language models (LLMs) for sustainability use cases
  • Proven history in geospatial data analysis using ArcGIS or similar platforms, with the ability to create environmental impact visualizations and location-based sustainability insights
  • Considerable background in GenAI lifecycle management, particularly in evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and responsible AI governance
  • Experience in hybridizing traditional ML algorithms with GenAI capabilities for enhanced code generation and automated sustainability reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex environmental data into actionable insights using both classical statistical methods and modern AI approaches

 

Other highly valued skills include: 

  • Considerable stakeholder management capabilities, with proven credentials of engaging senior executives and cross-functional teams to drive sustainability capability and secure buy-in for data-driven environmental programs
  • Full-stack development proficiency using Python and JavaScript, with active participation experience in building interactive dashboards using tools such as Streamlit or Gradio, and data manipulation with Pandas for environmental reporting
  • AWS cloud architecture expertise, including experience with sustainability-focused services like net zero operations. Well versed in serverless architectures for scalable environmental data processing
