Job description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Logistics Analyst to join our project logistics team. This role focuses on leveraging data analysis, process improvement, and system enhancement to optimize project logistics and operations. The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for analysing logistics data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and maintaining accurate records of project cargo and logistics costs. Key responsibilities include ensuring the efficient execution of cargo bookings, tracking shipments, updating the Project Enterprise Resource Planning (PERP) system, and leading system and process enhancements. The successful candidate will possess an engineering background, a solid understanding of project management principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and System Improvement:

  • Analyse logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to support decision-making.

Freight Bookings and Shipment Tracking:

  • Oversee and optimise cargo bookings to ensure timely execution.
  • Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, proactively addressing delays.
  • Update the PERP system with accurate shipment ETAs and other relevant data.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify, recommend, and implement logistics process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to streamline operations and improve data accuracy.

Freight Invoice and Cost Management:

  • Review and validate freight invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Capture and input logistics cost data into systems for analysis and reporting.

Support and Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Respond to logistics-related queries and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with project teams and suppliers to address logistical challenges and align on priorities.

Experience

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields with a strong focus on data and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret large data sets in fast-paced environments.

Skills

  • Advanced analytical skills with expertise in ERP systems, Power BI, and other data tools.
  • Proficiency in process mapping and system optimization techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Understanding of project management principles

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with logistics systems and processes, with a continuous improvement mindset.
