RTX Enterprise Data Services Organization has an opening for an Associate Director, SWE/AI Platform Integration (Associate Director, Data Science and Analytics).

Our mission is to continuously identify, test and deploy emerging capabilities that improve the daily work experience of our talented software, data and AI/ML engineers through improved collaboration, productivity, quality, process and practices. The work we do has an impact on highly visible and strategic enterprise initiatives. The successful candidate will partner with RTX-wide stakeholders to expand XETA platform capabilities and drive adoption of technology investments.
XETA is RTX’s enterprise-wide Digital Platform Portfolio for Cloud, Data Management, Analytics, AI/ML and Software Factory. XETA provides an E2E turnkey platform with built-in standard and guardrails so RTX practitioners can focus on delivering business value.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the design and build/integration of enterprise-wide platform capabilities spanning Software Factory, Data, Analytics and AI/ML.
- Automate the deployment, scalability and management of platform services.
- Design and build integrations to create composite platform services or centralized coordination services.
- Collaborate with Cloud and Cyber SMEs to design multi-cloud, multi-region COTS deployments.
- Influence decisions and drive alignment across organizational boundaries.
- Define standards and best practices.
- Foster an engineering culture and build communities around key technologies.
- Provide input/collaborate on Reference Architectures and Design Patterns.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies / services.
- Hands-on Design & Development of IaC, SDKs, CLIs, Libraries.
- Assess demand, priority, impact and synergy for new or consolidated capabilities.
- Translate business needs to new or enhanced platform capabilities.
- Balance the ease of support with the need for flexibility.
- Provide input to Product Management on XETA Roadmap and dependencies & sequencing.
- Lead a subset of cross-team PI technical goal setting and assist multiple scrum teams in identifying dependences and sequencing.
- Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to continuously evolve the platform technical strategy.
- Lead the harmonization of technical requirements and deployments across BUs/Enterprise Services.
- Join RTX-wide Councils & Communities and represent Enterprise Data Services, Data & AI Practitioners.
- Lead planning with Cloud suppliers to maximize RTX technical investments.
- Travel 10-20% domestically.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Minimum of 1+2 years of experience in software and cloud technologies and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Data Science or Data Analytics or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years related work experience.
- Experience with modern application design & platforms utilizing AWS, Azure and Hybrid.
- Expert in designing and deploying enterprise-wide IT services to a large and diverse set of business units.
- Expert in DevSecOps practices – ex. IaC, CI/CD, Code Scanning & Analysis.
- Expert in Agile software delivery practices and expectations.
- Expert in evaluating and implementing Software Frameworks.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing talent in a matrix environment without a direct reporting relationship.
- Experience working with Product Management to build business cases for multi-year investments.
- Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Working knowledge of financial analysis to forecast cloud usage costs.
- Ability to Travel 10-20% domestically

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
