Analytics Engineer

We aim to understand the key drivers, measure our performance, predict future trends, and initiate improvements and innovations based on our insights. To achieve this, we need to enable data-driven decision making in all layers of the organization, by translating raw data into clean, consumable data models as well as generating enthusiasm for and understanding of this data with business stakeholders.

As an Analytics Engineer you sit between a data analyst and data engineer. You have the skills to optimize data transformations while applying domain knowledge to create data to accelerate and enable analysis & insights.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with various teams in strategy, operations, finance and technology for a better understanding of the business processes and tools to parse and translate the underlying business logic;
• Accelerate data analysis and insights by creating clean, transformed data and maintaining data documentation and definitions;
• Empower business users to answer their own questions by training them on how to use this data and data visualization tools;
• Apply data modeling best practices to the organization's data;
• Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code.

What you will bring:

• 7+ years of tabular modeling and tooling (ideally star schemas and DBT) experience;
• Ability to communicate with the business to understand processes and tools and translate this into business logic;
• Skilled at transforming raw data into a wealth of opportunities;
• Expertise in SQL, including the use of window functions, UDFs, self-joins, and other complex SQL functionalities;
• Knowledge and experience with a visualization tool (ideally Power BI) and setting up data models for users to create their dashboards;
• Experience in balancing speed and accuracy and managing stakeholders in this area.
