About the Role & Program

The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team supports clients across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Experiences, Disney Cruise Line, Media Networks (i.e. ABC, ESPN), Studio Entertainment, Disney Theatrical Group (e.g., Broadway shows), and Disney Interactive Media in the core competencies of yield management, revenue planning, forecasting, pricing, and optimization. Key partners to the DDSI organization include Marketing, Finance, Business Development, Research, and Operations. Roles within DDSI develop, analyze, and implement strategies to enhance profitability and improve the value proposition for our Guests, Cast Members, and Shareholders.

The Decision Science team builds innovative scientific models and data-driven decision support tools that are used by business units across The Walt Disney Company to make better business decisions. From establishing appropriate science methodologies to implementing continuous innovation, the Decision Science team is instrumental in determining the success of our entire global enterprise!

What You Will Do

Interns make an impact by supporting innovative mathematical modeling to advise data-driven decision-making across many lines of business. As an intern, you will help in this process by:

  • Performing data preparation, exploration, validation, and reporting tasks for various business analytics systems and applications

  • Supporting the analysis, validation, and maintenance of machine learning and optimization models

  • Supporting the development and exploration of departmental modeling infrastructure

  • Learning relevant analytical methods and industry subject matter areas

  • Conducting guided modeling and analysis of revenue management, pricing, marketing, finance, and other business decisions using various mathematical, statistical, and simulation techniques

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience and/or coursework in scripting and data analysis in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL

  • Familiarity with standard modeling tools and methodologies in one or more of the following: forecasting, probability and uncertainty, machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, simulation, mathematical optimization, causal inference, econometrics, quantitative economics, or other analytical area

  • Experience and/or coursework performing data preparation, exploration, validation, and visualization tasks

  • Experience and/or coursework gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and reporting on the results

  • Strategic problem-solving & analytical skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn new analytical methodologies, software applications, and tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Tableau, PowerBI, or other data visualization software

  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Exposure to solving business problems using data and analytics in areas such as revenue management, pricing, marketing, finance, supply chain, or other business analytics

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an analytical field including in Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Economics, Computer Science or other STEM related field at an accredited college or university.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 through January 2026

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

  • Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
