The Digital & Process Performance function is organized into key teams to drive transformation effectively. Processes & Applications focuses on modernizing core business processes, while Data & Analytics enables data-driven decision-making. IT Operations ensures reliable and secure IT infrastructure, and the Transformation Management Office drives Huhtamaki wide business transformation initiatives with strategic goals.

Huhtamaki is on a journey towards becoming a data savvy organization, and we have launched several initiatives to carry us towards a digital future. We have been building a scalable data platform in Azure with our partners for some time and we are now enhancing our internal technical capabilities to develop the platform further – that’s where you come in.    

We are now looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team of seasoned professionals in Digital & Process Performance. This role is located in Espoo, Finland and it reports to the Head of Data Platforms and Analytics. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a pivotal contributor to the execution of our strategic data roadmap, designing and implementing data and reporting solutions to meet our rapidly evolving data requirements.  

Responsibilities and Key Activities: 

• Develop, deploy, and maintain data solutions on the Huhtamaki Data Platform, an enterprise-level platform designed to ensure consistent data availability for reporting, application, and analytical use cases. 

• Work primarily with structured data, including financial, manufacturing, procurement, sales & marketing, pricing and so on. 

• Design and implement scalable, robust, and secure data solutions on Azure, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Data Lake, ETL/ELT processes, and other data processing. 

• Create and maintain efficient data models and schemas to support business needs. 

• Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. 

• Ensure security best practices and compliance are maintained across the Azure architecture. 

• Provide ongoing support for data-related issues and troubleshoot problems promptly. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data solutions that align with business goals. 

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment. 

• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure technologies and best practices. 

Requirements for the role:  

• Min. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). 

• Min. of 5 years of experience in Azure data engineering and data platform. 

• Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL.  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Pyspark, Azure Datawarehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, etc. 

• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. 

• Familiar with networking, security, identity management and serverless computing in Azure. 

• Familiar with scripting and automation using PowerShell, ARM templates, or similar tools. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

• Good experience in extracting data from various ERP systems and API-related development is a plus. 

• Azure certifications (e.g., Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
