Senior Data Analyst, In-Force Pricing, Long Term Care

YOUR ROLE

As a member of the Long Term Care (LTC), In-force Pricing modeling team, you are responsible for providing subject matter expertise on the data. You will play a critical role in enhancing our organization by using models and data to drive business strategy, increase automation, and enhance the usage of data. This role requires working closely with process teams and cross-functional teams to ensure business needs are met that will be used to drive business decisions and support strategic goals.

The Senior Data Analyst demonstrates thought leadership, manages complex projects, meets deadlines, builds relationships, and communicates effectively. The ideal candidate possesses advanced analytical skills with the ability to turn data into knowledge and information that can be used to support strategic objective across LTC In-Force. It is essential to develop an in-depth understanding of the business to be able to identify and address critical issues.

What you will be doing

• Analyzing data to arrive at specific and crucial information for the organization

• Identifying and implementing process, data, and reporting improvements for the organization
• Creating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge
• Maintaining existing reporting and reconciliation solutions and migrating them into Power BI or similar automated solutions
• Working with large and complex databases containing millions of records
• Completing and documenting all changes in accordance with best practice guidelines
• Conducting root cause analysis to determine the reason for an issue, estimate the impact of that issue and propose a solution to resolve the issue and prevent future errors
• Implementing new business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across multiple data platforms
• Determining and documenting proper usage of data and solutions to meet business needs including integration of actuarial concepts

What you bring

• Bachelors degree in an analytical or technical discipline
• 5+ years of hands on quantitative and qualitative data analysis and data modeling experience in a dynamic environment
• Minimum 3 years experience using Microsoft Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, Tableau, and/or similar data analytics, visualization and business intelligence tools
• Hands-on Advanced SQL
• Data Analysis & Trending experience with demonstrated proficiency in analytical methodologies, tools, and dashboard development to interpret, visualize, simplify and present/communicate data, analyses, results and findings
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (e.g. developing pivot tables, linking to external data, automating with VBA, etc.)
• Experience in scripting languages, such as VBA, Python, R, and/or similar languages preferred
• Self-motivation with an ability to manage multiple, and sometimes changing priorities
• An ability to influence and work collaboratively in a team, build relationships and network with cross-functional areas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively across different disciplines, often with non-technical audiences
