The Senior Data Architect Manager will manage a team of Domain Data Architects, each responsible for a specific Domain such as commercial or supply chain providing guiderails, definitions and designs to support empowered teams delivering data products and systems. They will work in a culture that encourages teams to innovate, collaborate, learn and take ownership within agreed frameworks.
What You'll do
- Building trust and high levels of personal credibility and confidence in own technical expertise.
- Being results orientated with a bias for action, underpinned by evidence, data and strong judgement.
- Planning ahead and working with product and business teams to prioritise /shape the work of engineers across the domain.
- Considering multiple viewpoints and coming up with creative solutions when faced with difficult detailed technical problems or presenting a business case.
- Influencing teams across the domain, who have autonomy and responsibility to deliver outcomes themselves. This means
- influencing ways of work, identifying innovates ideas quickly and sharing these widely, influencing others to adopt components that help deliver outcomes faster.
- Being curious to understand new ideas and emerging thinking across the organisation and externally, investing time in their own learning.
- Work with your team to own, develop and implement best practice for creating, managing and integrating data across the entire transactional data estate.
- Develop and progress strategic vision for the management of data to support high level business objectives.
- Work with a variety of colleagues including Product Owners, Principal Engineers, Architects and the Engineering community to ensure the best data solutions are delivered
- Drive alignment, quality and consistency of models and other architectural assets across all of the teams
- Ensure data models are documented, communicated, updated and centrally managed
- Work closely with other architects to agree on various critical architecture design decisions which in turn drive/impact the wider data architecture.
Who you are
- Experienced senior Data Architect
- Experienced in leading end to end data architecture across a large data estate
- In-depth expertise in Data Modelling, including Conceptual, Logical and Physical modelling
- Experienced in domain driven design approaches supported by knowledge of different modelling methodologies
- Advocate of agile/lean delivery methodologies
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in cloud technologies and how these can be utilised to drive effective data product delivery
