The Innovation Systems Intelligence Leader is responsible for developing and reporting critical innovation KPIs for new product growth transformation. This role works closely with the CTO teams, central marketing teams, and other PMOs to improve current reporting systems and evaluate the overall health of our innovation portfolios. Responsibilities include developing and reporting on the status of our innovation portfolios, and gathering, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable insights.

This position reports to the Sr. Director Portfolio Insights and Modelling and is part of the Central Chief Technology Office located at our sites in the US, EU/EEAS or UK.

What you will do:

Process and Data Intelligence Development (70%): 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment on innovation goals and metrics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of innovation initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement and scaling successful projects.
  • Data Connectivity: Ability to connect to a wide range of data sources, including cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Google BigQuery), on-premises databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), Excel, CSV files, and APIs.
  • Data Transformation: Proficiency in using Power Query for data cleaning, transformation, and preparation.
  • Data Modelling: Skills in creating and managing data models, including defining relationships between tables and using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced calculations.
  • Interactive Visualizations: Expertise in creating interactive reports and dashboards with a variety of visualizations, such as bar charts, pie charts, maps, and custom visuals.
  • Report Customization: Ability to customize reports with filters, slicers, and drill-through features to enable detailed data exploration.
  • Real-Time Data: Experience with setting up real-time data streaming and live dashboards to provide up-to-date insights.
  • Data Security and Governance: Understanding of data security best practices, including role-based access control and data governance policies.
  • Integration with Other Tools: Knowledge of integrating Power BI with other Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Teams) and third-party applications.
  • Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing report performance, including efficient data loading, query optimization, and managing large datasets.

Business Application Support (30%): 

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. 
  • Design and manage new information technology solutions by analysing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications. 
  • Develop and manage business and functional requirements and corresponding work products for highly complex projects to ensure stakeholders’ understanding. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and perform functions for urgent, high visibility, high profile, and strategic projects to ensure accuracy and completeness while meeting challenging deadlines. 
  • Coordinate and execute functional and systems tests to ensure systems work as intended. 
  • Administer and support PPM and supporting applications by maintaining configurations, permissions, data relationships, workflows, scripts, and other application settings as required. 

Who you are:

  • Have over 10 years’ experience in Business Analytics / Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Portfolio Analytics within innovation
  • MSc or higher education in Analytics, Innovation Management or Business Intelligence
  • Proficiency in Data Analytics Tools: Expertise in tools like Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Data Management: Skills in data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management systems, as well as experience with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, and cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation and analysis
  • Data Privacy and Security: Understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices for securing sensitive information

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Accolade PPM experience
