We're looking for an Associate Data Engineer (f/m/d) to join our growing Data & BI team. This is an opportunity to work on the backbone of our data infrastructure — ensuring reliable pipelines, supporting analytics, and actively contributing to the modernization of our platform.

The role is a unique blend of technical development and business context: you'll collaborate across departments to understand real-world needs and turn them into scalable data solutions. We're looking for someone who is hands-on, curious, and proactive - someone who's eager to take ownership and grow into a well-rounded data professional.

Tasks

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL
  • Assist our ongoing efforts to modernize our data stack, including evaluating and introducing modern tools (e.g. Python-based ETL, dbt, orchestration frameworks, cloud DWH solutions)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot daily data workflows to ensure reliable and accurate data delivery
  • Support our stakeholders by structuring and preparing data for reports and dashboarding in Tableau
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and collaborate on process discovery to improve data relevance and usability
  • Manage data source connections, refresh schedules, and job monitoring within Tableau Server
  • Document processes and implement basic data quality checks and performance improvements
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Around 1 - 3 years of experience in data engineering, BI development, analytics, or a similar data-related role
  • Proficient in SQL, with some hands-on experience using Microsoft SQL Server and/or SSIS
  • Understanding of core ETL principles, data modeling, and data warehouse design
  • Experience working with Tableau or other BI tools (dashboard usage or creation, data source setup, etc.)
  • Interest in both technical systems and business processes - you enjoy solving real-world problems with data
  • Familiarity with scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell) or automation tools
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable taking initiative and learning independently in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to NoSQL or Big Data technologies (e.g. Spark, Hive, Hadoop)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) or CI/CD pipelines
  • Previous experience in a business-focused, cross-departmental data role

Benefits

  • Permanent employment contract
  • A company pension scheme
  • A modern workplace in the heart of Berlin
  • Ticket for public transportation (e.g. Germany ticket)
  • Platform for employee discounts from a wide range of providers
  • Additional English or German courses if needed

Looking forward to your application.
