Kentro is hiring an experienced AWS Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer to support a large federal government contract. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and workflows in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based data storage solutions, such as data lakes and warehouses.
  • Optimize data processing and transformation for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and governance in cloud systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Document processes, workflows, and system architecture for future reference.
  • Help a diverse range of generative AI-focused initiatives to adopt the right architecture at each part of the customer lifecycle
  • Support adoption of a broad range of AWS services to deliver business value and accelerate growth
  • Provide technical consultation and support the evolution and roadmap of the AWS platform and services
  • Develop unique, compelling, and exciting presentations and demonstrations of new Amazon technologies
  • Document best practices and create development resources that can be used by developers
  • Build reference architecture, frameworks and toolkits to drive adoption at scale
  • Manage complex projects with significant impact

Location: Hybrid in Woodlawn, MD

Salary Range: $135,000-$145,000. Factors influencing pay within this range include geography, market demand, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years experience delivering data solutions in the cloud (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. (AWS preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering tools such as SSIS, AWS Glue, and other ETL tools in the AWS environment.  (CCaaS data preferred).
  • Proficiency in programming languages like SQL with a bonus of Python and Scala.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Athena, DynamoDB and MSSQL.
  • Understanding of data security and compliance standards. (DRLS, 508 compliance, PII, etc.)
  • Understanding of and reporting on logs in AWS environment (CloudWatch, ServiceLens, Synthetics, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS experience preferred, with proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation)
  • AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) preferred
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Familiarity with Amazon Lex capabilities, benefits, conversation design, and required deployment skills
  • Experience incorporating generative AI into voice or chat bots to answer questions or drive self-service experiences, including model selection and integration, prompt engineering, and data preparation.
  • Experience working with Python and generative AI libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow
  • Understanding of technical details and techniques used in tuning generative AI foundation models using techniques like RAG, PEFT, RLHF, DPO
  • Experience scaling model training and inference using technologies like Amazon SageMaker
  • Experience with related technology areas such as distributed filesystems and high performance networking

  • Must have active Public Trust Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
