The AI Intern will develop an automated image analysis system for end-of-line inspection in our cleanroom. This system aims to improve efficiency by reducing manual review efforts conducted by the production and quality teams. The intern will work on training AI models, integrating them into the workflow, and ensuring reliability and accuracy to support manufacturing and quality control. The AI system will analyze final inspection images and determine a pass/fail disposition, providing real-time feedback to the cleanroom team to optimize decision-making and reduce process bottlenecks.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and train AI-based models for image analysis in the cleanroom inspection process.
  • Integrate the AI system into the existing manufacturing workflow to provide real-time pass/fail dispositions.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to refine AI algorithms for high accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct data collection, preprocessing, and augmentation to improve model performance.
  • Validate and test AI models using real-world production data.
  • Develop a reporting system for tracking AI performance and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize model outputs to ensure seamless adoption by the production team.
  • Provide documentation and training materials for system implementation and handover.

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior coursework or projects in machine learning, computer vision, or artificial intelligence preferred.
  • Experience with Python and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, quality inspection, or automation systems is beneficial.

Skills

  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Understanding of image processing techniques and AI model deployment.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with strict quality standards.

Working Conditions

  • Work will be conducted in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Some time spent in a cleanroom setting may be required for testing and validation.
  • Must adhere to all safety and contamination control procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • May require standing and working with production equipment.
