The Legal Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing and training our AI pipelines, essential for driving forward our AI workflows and data-driven decision-making processes. The Legal Analyst will assess, evaluate, and enhance the prompt structures used for Large Language Models (LLMs). This role involves verifying and analyzing the results of abstractions to spot inaccuracies, while working collaboratively with multiple teams to gauge the capabilities and performance of our AI-powered solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze commercial real estate legal agreements to verify the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated legal outputs, ensuring consistency with the original documents.
- Research and implement best practices for legal prompt engineering while employing creative, out-of-the-box approaches when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, data science, and engineering—to refine prompt logic and improve overall legal accuracy.
- Use internal tools to manage the testing lifecycle, including document review, prompt evaluation, error tagging, and iterative prompt improvement.
- Stay informed on AI and LLM advancements and their applications in legal tech, providing insights to help enhance the performance and reliability of AI-driven legal features.
Qualifications
- Native English speaker, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Legal education: Juris Doctor (JD), Paralegal Certificate, Master of Legal Studies (MLS), or a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or a related field.
- Prior legal experience, ideally as a paralegal, attorney, or in a contract analysis role—demonstrating a strong understanding of legal frameworks and contracts, with the ability to interpret and navigate complex legal language, particularly in commercial real estate leases.
- Comfortable working with AI tools to test, validate, and provide feedback on AI-generated legal outputs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and approach complex challenges in creative and efficient ways.
- Proficiency with structured data formats, including JSON, XML, and CSV.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to learn independently and stay current in the rapidly evolving AI and legal tech landscape.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in real estate law, property management, lease management software or commercial real estate.
- Proficiency in working with APIs through code.
- Familiarity with commonly used Large Language Models (e.g., GPT-4, Gemini) and prompt engineering techniques.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Hands-on experience with tools or frameworks for LLM development and experimentation.
