Job Summary and Responsibilities

Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Sustainable Investing Platform is the central provider of sustainability-related services for Public Investing, focusing on both investment research and regulatory and reporting activities. Together with the Public Investing teams, we seek to help clients achieve their financial goals while at the same time fulfilling their sustainability objectives.

Our team develops and creates the toolkits and frameworks that enable our investors to consider decision-useful sustainability information in their investment process, with the ultimate goal of enhancing risk-adjusted returns. We are specifically focused on finding a data driven angle to answer investment research questions related to sustainability. Our team is also staying on top of regulatory and policy developments around sustainability and partnering with the wider organization to deliver on our reporting obligations. Finally, we partner closely with our commercial teams to help deliver an excellent client experience through the development of industry leading sustainable investment solutions.

Our team operates in a fast-paced environment and welcomes individuals with both strong quantitative and communication skills while demonstrating an interest in sustainable investing. Team members ideally have a quantitative orientation with an aptitude for numbers and some familiarity with Python, while at the same time possessing excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. An interest in sustainable investing is desired.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct bespoke analysis focused on sustainability related topics for clients and investment teams
• Create marketing materials, and keep frequently used materials current and compliant
• Analysis including data exploration, back tests, carve-outs, performance attribution, competitive analyses, peer group analyses and overall market research
• Contribute to the continuously evolving sustainability frameworks and toolkits
• Work with the various investment teams in reviewing and validating their sustainability assessments and investment opportunities
• Stay closely updated on new and proposed sustainability regulation, policy and firm requirements
• Deliver cohesive sustainability related reporting to investors and clients 
• Prepare, update, and enhance our RFP/DDQ collateral 
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects in parallel

Basic Qualifications

• A mixture of quantitative and qualitative orientation; finance and statistics knowledge; affinity with the topic of sustainability preferable 
• Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills 
• Computer programming background or experience (ideally basic Python skills)
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Thrives in a team-oriented and collaborative environment 
• Strong interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct 
• Outstanding attention to detail 
• Organized and deadline driven. Disciplined approach to following up, timeliness, and seeing projects through to completion. 
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills 
• Creativity and problem-solving skills
