Introduction to the job

Are you a student in Data Analytics or Engineering? Are you looking to do your thesis or gain work experience at ASML? Do you have an affinity for data analysis business intelligence, and interested in model predictive integration for a complex ASML machine? Then this internship could be interesting to you!

Background information

Within the Development and Engineering (D&E) organization, the System Integration (SI) department is responsible for integrating, verifying and releasing working DUV system configurations. The integration, verification and release is tested on several proto machines. Proto systems are used to verify the design concept at system level, which includes both hardware and software. Multiple proto machines are part of a “Proto Park”. The proto engineering group withing the SI department is responsible for keeping the machines in perfect condition as well as execution of test claims and supporting D&E in their testing.

You will be part of the proto integration team with engineers who are passionate about Utilization and Availability of DUV proto systems. Utilization and Availability are the key metrics used to quantify time losses on these “very expensive” proto machines.

Your assignment

A predictive outcome of integration (quantifying expected time loss at proto) is becoming more and more important at ASML to ensure that deadlines are met and products can be released on time. It is also an essential input to identify gaps in the processes that can be solved in continuous improvement cycles.

Therefore the System integration department is exploring the possibilities of model predictive integration. At the current moment the performance of the proto park [Availability and utilization] is based on historical data, but to further improve the department it is desired to set a forecast and ultimately performance (time loss) targets for the future.

The assignment is to investigate the possibility of a model that can predict the utilization rate of the proto park based on various inputs that impact the proto park availability and utilization.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this assignment you:

  • Are a Master student in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or Mechatronics with an a strong focus on data analytics.

  • Are familiar with data analysis and tools (e.g. Matlab, Spotfire).

  • Have basic programming and engineering skills.

  • Are a strong communicator who has a technical mindset and engages critical thinking.

This is a Master internship lasting 6 to 12 months, 4 to 5 days per week, starting in 2024.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.

Important information: Please note that if you apply after the 22nd December 2023, there will be a delay in response regarding your application. Should you apply after this date, you can expect a response by the 12th January 2024.
