Synechron is an innovative global consulting firm delivering industry-leading digital solutions to transform and empower businesses.Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to design and develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Enterprise BI/Big Data/DW/ETL technologies and extensive experience in large enterprise environments. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
Software Requirements:
- Experience with Enterprise BI/Big Data/DW/ETL technologies such as Teradata, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, Hyperion, or Business Objects.
- Knowledge of data modeling patterns.
- Experience with Ab Initio, Snowflake, AWS/Cloud Services.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Design and develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines and data platforms with comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and translate requirements into technical implementations.
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and in the delivery of products.
- Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team, including junior Data Engineers.
- Produce high-quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks and applying industry best practices.
- Provide technical governance of product delivery to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
- Deliver data engineering solutions aligned to core concepts of data design, preparation, transformation, and load.
- Build and implement data pipelines in distributed data platforms including warehouses, databases, data lakes, and cloud lakehouses.
- Enable data predictions and models, reporting, and visualization analysis via data integration tools and frameworks.
- Contribute to domain planning, providing guidance to ensure that technical deliveries are aligned to engineering direction and strategy.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience with Enterprise BI/Big Data/DW/ETL technologies (Teradata, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, Hyperion, Business Objects).
- Strong knowledge of data modeling patterns.
- Proficiency in data engineering solutions and frameworks.
- Experience with distributed data platforms including warehouses, databases, data lakes, and cloud lakehouses.
- Experience with Ab Initio, Snowflake, AWS/Cloud Services.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in large enterprise environments handling large volumes of datasets with High Service Level Agreements.
- 7+ years of experience gained in a financial institution or insurance provider is desirable.
- Experience working within a Data Delivery Life Cycle framework.
- Experience leading discussions and presentations, driving decisions across groups of stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive initiatives to implement them.
- Provide mentoring and technical assistance to junior team members.
- Ensure data engineering solutions meet business requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide technical governance to ensure successful delivery and adoption of data products.
- Build and implement data pipelines in distributed data platforms.
- Enable data predictions, models, reporting, and visualization analysis.
- Contribute to domain planning and provide guidance to align technical deliveries with engineering strategy.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in data engineering or cloud technologies are a plus.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
