Blackstone Multi Asset Investing (BXMA) manages approximately $84 billion across a diversified array of businesses, including a customized portfolio solutions platform, a special situations platform, an open-ended mutual fund platform, and an emerging manager seeding platform. Job Title: Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA)- Strategic Initiatives, Operational Strategy-Vice President

Job Description:

The Strategic Initiatives team helps set and execute on the strategic priorities of BXMA in partnership with the division’s leadership team.  Our goal is to build, grow, and constantly improve BXMA’s investment business.  The team covers strategic initiatives across investments & product, clients, and operations.  This role will be focused on Operational Strategy playing a crucial role in driving operational excellence and strategic alignment across the organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, develop actionable strategies, and implement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support our long-term business objectives.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and execution of operational strategies that align with the company’s overall strategic goals. Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and integration of initiatives.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Lead or support projects aimed at optimizing workflows and reducing costs.

  • Project Management: Manage and support strategic initiatives from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

  • KPIs / Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of operational strategies and initiatives. Provide regular updates to leadership on progress and outcomes.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making and identify best practices within the industry.

  • New Product Development: Partner with product strategy function to help build new investment products for BXMA with a particular focus on operational set up.

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.  In addition to strong analytical and time management skills, the successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or similar strategic operating roles.

  • Familiarity with capital markets, financing structures, and typical investment strategies used by alternative asset managers.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to synthesize information efficiently and communicate effetively.

  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and synthesizing data to help drive decisions including training in data science.

  • Ability to manage ad-hoc projects, with minimal oversight.

  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (Tableau and Python an added advantage).

  • A growth mindset and eager to learn new concepts.

  • A team-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • High level of professional integrity and discrete with sensitive information.

  • Motivation to thrive in a dynamic environment, often under competing deadlines.

  • Undergraduate degree is required.

Expected annual base salary range:

$200,000 - $225,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
