About the Role
As a product manager for Elsevier’s global Submissions, you will enable growth of knowledge, research and innovation for our researcher community.
As part of our team, you will work within the wider publishing experience. You will be part of a cross-functional, agile squad of engineers, UX, subject-matter experts and analysts to create a start of the art user experience for article publication. You will grow trust & build alignment with stakeholders in Technology, Operations and Publishing. You will contribute to our data-driven, innovative culture for our digital submission products and services. You will ensure authors return to Elsevier for the best experience from submission to trusted publication.
Responsibilities
- Data-driven product development by driving the definition, tracking, and operationalizing of feature-, product-, and company-level metrics
- Applying data, including effective use of KPIs and OKRs, to drive commercial decisions and growth opportunities for the product
- Driving key end-to-end lifecycle components, from planning to release
- Working with external product management to develop product vision and roadmap plan aligned with business strategy and communicates across all critical stakeholders
- Using knowledge of competitors to inform product decisions and roadmaps
- Defining and interpreting A/B tests that help answer critical questions about the impact of changes to our product
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with product managers, engineers, and executives alike
- Have delivered products and/or services with data science needs and capabilities
- Experience contributing to commercialised features or products, from understanding user needs to conceptualization to execution to post-release management.
- Experience in a quantitative role navigating highly ambiguous environments
- Has been recognized as full owner of a product or sizable feature of a complex product.
- Is passionate about frequent product customer engagements that lead to positive commercial outcomes.
- Proposed, designed, and run rigorous experiments with clear insights and product recommendations utilizing SQL and Python
- Ownership of development and career
